Alison Road is named after the Alison family, one of the earliest pioneering families to settle in the region. The road itself was one of the first roads to be built in Wyong. It was initially used by bullock teams to transport timber to the railway station.

The Chapman and Sons General Store was opened in 1901 by William John 'Dah' Chapman. For some time, Chapman and Sons were the largest general merchants between Newcastle and Sydney.

The Astra Theatre first opened in 1936. It was designed by the famous architect Aaron Bolot. It was demolished in early 1973 to make way for the Wyong Shopping Centre.

Old Wyong Public School officially opened on this site in 1889. The first teacher at the school was William Berry.
